Updateage.

Grr. I hate cleaning my den when I'm having confidence problems. I read [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear's memo to household, and I'm doubting my ability to clean my den.....On top of this, I'm wondering why life is cruel to me & [livejournal.com profile] falconoflight...we have had a few nights where she could've crashed here and didn't because either of lack of co-conspiritor or fear of her getting in trouble. I'm almost at the point where I'm giving up all hope of this happening....but I can't lose hope. No.

Anyways, my den's a mess. I'm having self-confidence issues with cleaning it, and I know damned well that I am lazy. This is probably why I haven't done much of anything of the sort. I've gotten some cans and bottles out of my room, shoved most of my shoes into a box and that's it. I haven't finished the job because I feel so insecure about cleaning it....I'm just depressed......

Don't look at cleaning as a whole job - jobs get to looking daunting because they're so big they overwhelm us if we try to tackle them all at once. Just do continue to do one or two things at a time, like you have been. When you start feeling that sense of "I can't do this," stop and ask yourself, "OK, then, what CAN I do right now?" Then pick one little job and do it. Eventually you'll have a clean den.

You're not the only one! Have you looked in the garage lately??! Or the office? Or even my mail stack? I mean stacks! Bad. Really bad.
And the [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat tells me I'll need to clean off my side of the bedroom before they can install the new tub...

All I can say is

You are NOT alone.

I know how you feel. I hate cleaning. The best advice find a home for all your possessions first. Like this lives here and this lives there...etc. Everything needs a home and their own place. I know it may seem silly to think this way but it really works. You will be surprised how clean things get!!!!

Ok last resort get a huge garbage bin and toss things you really don't need?? I don't have a clue how to help unless I was there. Have you thought of asking for help from lets say Devon?

Set a timer for 5 or 10 or 15 minutes. And focus on a set space: the right half of the desk or some measureable space. When the timer dings, STOP. GO do something else for the same amount of time. Repeat.

It works. Really, it does.

Just try it for an hour. That's either 4-15s or 6-10s.

Draw the room in quarters.. Do one quarter at a time. Using a timer also works. Realize money is scarce too
