OK. I got my laptop back, listened to an album or two, still have 3 unplayed Wicked Tinkers albums that I need to convert to MP3s.

Rant #1: I didn't have a problem with the convention. I had a problem with the people. Some people I wasn't looking forward to seeing showed up, and also some people who love making my life difficult. The primary problem that I noticed was that my superior, Ray King (Merc Runner Lead) was accusing me of sleeping with another Runner for 2 nights & claiming that I was getting frisky. As I understand it, this other Runner is legal like myself and it is true we slept together for those 2 nights. It is not true that we did anything beyond hug & exchange backrubs. Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] texxgadget for pointing out to me that this person believes "I'm unfit for command". My answer to this is real simple. Let me be judged then, by my peers: the Convention Chair, my department heads, and the CEO of SiliConventions Limited. I have the right toface my accusers & argue that I am fit to handle the position. If they still don't believe me: I never want to work for them again. Plain & simple.

Rant #2: It's not really a rant, persay. Just a question. How am I supposed to wake her up on my way downstairs if she's a stone-dead sleeper like myself? I mean, I wake up to an alarm when I remember one exists. I don't remember Mayhem being able to do so, and only the phone serving as an impromptu alarm clock. I guess I could always let Phil wake her up when he gets here sometime within the next half hour...

Rant #3: There's good news & bad news regarding the LD relationship I have with [livejournal.com profile] asahoshi. The good news is that she started school on time this year. So I am happy for that. The bad news: I have to wait another 3 months before we can inact our winter plan of my going up there on Babbages' Birthday. But when I go up there, I will finally get to meet [livejournal.com profile] drakk_draconian, who [livejournal.com profile] asahoshi discusses lots online & in LJ.

Rant #4: I'm kinda looking forward to it. I'm not looking forward to it in the respect that there will be homework up the wazzu. OTOH, I get to start teaching [livejournal.com profile] austerdilvahn the ways of the supernatural. I'm sure she has great potential, but she doesn't realize what she's fully capable of. Over the last few quarters, she has proven that she is ready to handle whatever tests are necessary to develop said potential.

On Rant #1... Remember that this is a volunteer position. You don't have to do it.

On Rant #2... I'm sure that you can find fun and interesting ways to wake Mayhem from sleep. The only catch is finding ways to make your schedule after you've STARTED some of those things... ;->

I had no idea that you liked the Wicked Tinkers. I actually had the priviledge to see them live. I'll send you the one video I took of them.

I've seen them live twice. And one of them complimented me on my performance I did at the fair they were at.

Chaos, I would talk to the Con chair about this as soon as possible. You have a grievance and you need to nip this accusation in the bud. I would also talk to Ray King and remind him that if there is no proof of this accusation, it is called slander.
Talk to the said Runner and see what the person has to say to the accusations. If she (I assume it is a she) states that she never made this accusation, tell Ray to stuff it where the sun doesn't shine...then don't work for this creep again or for the con.

Then tell him to cease and desist with the "negative waves".
