Guys, I have a bit of a problem.

If my last post came up as just a subject line, I'm sorry. The keyboard doesn't like me right now. Anyways, my problem is as follows: I found out this morning during the baycon meeting that it has become my job to find panelists & concert slots for Further Confusion 2005 as Filk Lead. This is a pre-convention thing, and even though the convention isn't until MLK weekend next year, I started to look now. I'm not begging asking for people to do it out of sympathy for me; I'm doing it to try and encourage overlap between the Furries & the Filkers. As some of you may or may not know, we had Heather Alexander as our Filk GOH this year. I don't believe we have a current Filk GOH, and I'm taking nominations for that. I have a few ideas in mind:
Escape Key
Uffington Horse
Anwyn
Blake Hodgetts
Frank Hayes

I somehow feel that there should be more people to add to this list...but I'm not sure. Besides: I'd love to get some of these people down to CA for a furry convention, but I'm not sure who to ask. If anyone could help me out by giving me a filk GOH nominee, give me a panel for the con, or even a concert slot, please post replies here and I will answer ASAP.

Well, in terms of concert slots, I'd really like to be able to perform at Further Confusion. I'm currently starting up a group that has a very Martin Carthy solo album feel to it. We'll be able to play really anything you'd like. I've got a few different lyrics for some folk songs rewritten with furry themes. If you'd like, I can share some with you. If you're interested in having me perform, just let me know so I can make appropriate arrangements beforepaw. Thanks. ^_^

Thank you, Ian. This will help a great deal. If you would like to take this offline (outside of livejournal & into the FC events thing) I could start setting you up with a time and things. If you could spread the word to other fursons you know about preforming @ FC, we'd appreciate it immensly. Thanks.

Sure thing. I'll tell folks I know. Setting up a time early would also be nice, if that's possible. That way, I'd know what I'd have to do to prepare for it.

I don't know. I'll get back to you. Good idea, though...but considering that GAFilk is the weekend before FC, probably not. We'll be lucky if he's got the CD out by GAFilk.
