Class reports: week 1

(Future note: anywhere it says "free fries", I get them from V-Chan.)

Monday: Greensheet for LART 200 classes. Boring. All we did.
Tuesday: Started looking at course outline for remainder of the quarter. Looked @ due dates for papers. Started current assignment: the personal letter about a signifigant place.I chose asahoshi's house, because I could. Looked @ greensheet, got loner eqipment. Got free fries from V-Chan.
Wed: Not much happened. Ate a tangerine in LART, got free fries from V-Chan.
Thurs: Discussed possibly an extra credit assignment by writing a similar type letter on tangerine. Didn't work. Did first half of letter as HW assignment. Finished vocab assignment & printed out to hand in tomorrow. Fencing instructer tried to kill me. I know my footwork sucks. Didn't help I was wearing boots at the time, but that problem will soon be rectified. Free fries.
Fri: Not much happened. Wrote other half of LART homework assignment/letter. asahoshi will see that the second half of the letter obviously describes detail. Letter e-mailed to people in .txt upon request.
Sat: Haven't gotten here yet, but will be going to NewCommer's Torney & going to Werewolf game. That's all I know.

Wait a minute, here! What is this, some sort of accelerated fencing class? What sort of pseudo-instructor is this? You shouldn't be fencing with *anyone* (instructor included) in the first week! You're supposed to be practicing lunges, footwork, and advance/retreat. I'm now wondering how qualified this instructor is to teach. Aside from trying to kill you.

We were drilling. We weren't fencing. We were practicing. It was all loner gear & practicing footwork.

Okay, you mean figuratively, not with a blade, one-on-one. With fencing, one has to be careful of terms. ;-)
(I've known some SCA yahoos who believed they were "teaching fencing" by tossing someone a foil and saying "defend yourself!" while they they went on the attack against the newbie.)
