LosCon's aftermath
Nov. 30th, 2003 09:58 pmThis is the report on the aftermath. I had a good time overall.
Thursday: Starts out like any normal day before con....we make sure we got everything, then pile into the car, driving to our destination. Guess what? We spent 7 hours getting down to Burbank, and we were tired and wanted to go to sleep. That's just my parents, though. My job was actually more difficult, since I had to do the turkey pan (after the turkey was eaten.) It was a pain in the ass to try and get done.
Friday: Awoken @ 5 AM, not really sleeping much the night before due to excessive snoring from
mdlbear, continuous coughing from
flower_cat and a bit of talking from my sister. Very sleepless night.....anyways, woke up with Jordi and went downstairs into the lobby for a bit, dipping our feet into the hot tub, playing a bit of pool and eating breakfsast. I was told to go off to ConSuite, and was designated the official "Penguin", (or gopher with an icecart). After about 3-4 hours of ice run, I make it into the dealers room and pick up a SG-1 rulebook. Meet up with
mira_fastfire around early afternoon, I think, finding
wolfwings_shadowflight not long after. As the day progressed, I had her work on my back which was soon screwed up by ice runs, and my numbing paws. We had fun, and wandered around. I wind up crashing in Mira-chan's room because of parents.
Saturday: Real wierd. I was thinking that it was going to be your typical Mid convention job, working a lot and making a fool out of yourself later. As yet another ice run or 3 progresses (5 mile ice marathon), I get that same knot, except that according to Mira-Chan when she worked on it....it seemed to have gotten worse. I don't know what happened after that as far as increased pain, but okay. It continued. Everything was slightly random. ConSuite had to shut down for 3 hours and have a chocolate nightmare. (I am actually glad to say that for what its worth, I didn't want to take Mayhem to this con...too much chocolate.) The parties were great, more stuff...and a LOT of dancing & Pixie Stix. YAY!!! (Sleep? You got some? Wimps....)
Sunday: Damn, cons suck for this reason only: Its not actually over until you see the dead dog...but if you leave before hand, the con isnt over. Its just annoying. After every con I have been to recently, theres always been a 98% chance I get depressed the weekend after the con if I don't have somewhere else to be or someone else to hang with. It really bites....but I'm home & finished my term paper.
