Okay. Today we tried the interview again because the tape glitched like I said last time. This time, we found an audio/video recorder to use, loaned to us by yet another cow-orker. I thought that it would give us a video recording also, but I didn't feel like watching my interview.

After it finished, I decided to turn it into an MP3, but didn't have the proper driver on my computer to do that with. Yet another cow-orker pops out of the woodwoork of [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear's office with macintoshes. He says that he could turn it into said desired file if he had the cable. We went looking for the cow-orker who loaned us the camera in the first place, then asked him for a cable. Upon retrieval, I took it back to the cow-orker with the macs. He plugged it in and said "I'll get you when it's ready." When I went into the guy's office to check on it, it was in 2 different audio clips. I didn't expect it to take that long....really....as I am writing this, the file is being audioed and turning into something workable. I won't have results for another few minutes, at least...will post progress of typing it once happens.

Actually, the place where I work is a research lab, so we don't usually have to answer to bean counters as long as our research interests are mostly related to the company's interests. As they are, which keeps everybody happy. (Unlike some corporate research labs I can think of, we have an extremely good track record on getting our research turned into real products.)

And we are having fun!
