Okay, so you've been watching this space. Wanting more information. Here ya go. Well, okay. No it doesn't. I lie. Anyways, spent most of the day seeming to do nothing --- listening to music on my computer, chatting with [livejournal.com profile] asahoshi via email and IM and packing up my stuff from the floor. Moving all the laundry into the suitcase, finding all of my tools for my chain mail stuff, cleaning up my rods, emptying my bags, etc., all while waiting for Led to get out of class. Note: Dogs = nice headache if you're not used to them. I is not used to them. Once he got out of class, we headed down to a bookstore. Apparently didn't find what he wanted, so we skedaddled off to the bank. Picked up money orders for the security deposit and rent, got to the apartment, dropped them off, signed the paperwork. 28 pages. Grr. Haven't signed that much paperwork since I did my taxes a year ago. Erf. Decided that we wanted to go out to dinner. A really lovely place on the other side of the hill not far from Green Monster (that I can't remember what it's called) that is actually on par with Jasmine (one of my old haunts down in California) had these really awesome mu-shoo prawns. Really delicious --- breakfast. Made a few phone calls on the way home, wanting to get stuff done and accomplished. Talked to roomie about his car (a Saturn '91 model w/ automatic transmission) ---

Roomie: "I will give to you in exchange for considerations to be made later."
Me: "I buy the tools you need for school, I get the Saturn."
Roomie: "Done."

Now haz plan --- learn to drive. Came home, wanted to talk to the hubby who hadn't heard about the new developments in our lives yet. He was out at a sushi run. Managed to catch him right before he went to bed, and he told me what he intended to do, telling me that his research yielded favorable results, plans for funeral attendance, etc., and the possibility of coming to own a fax/scanner/copy/whatever machine. We talked about that and our other developments down here, and I explained a few of my plans concerning the apartment. He agreed, and I will be taking pictures of the apartment for 2 purposes: 1) I said I would take pics for Selkit. 2) Documentation of the condition before we got there in case any damage happens that is pre-existing.

Discussed options w/ [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear about shipping stuff, discussed it with [livejournal.com profile] selkit and [livejournal.com profile] jilara too. Hoping it won't be that much of a chore to get our stuff moved up here, but can't promise a darn thing. Borrowed [livejournal.com profile] cflute and [livejournal.com profile] jenkitty's printer today to make multiple copies of my resume with the new updated addy on it, because roomie found a job fair he wants me to attend. Since he'll be in school, I'll have to get the information from him and hike out to somewhere with wi-fi long enough to plan the bus route, and will need to speak to him about cable/dsl/landline providers. He doesn't really want a land line option, but somehow I do. The idea of staying on [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear's cell phone plan and nomming his minutes with LD calls to places like Canada = not good, especially not after the high cell bills I hear about wracked up by either myself, Mom, or Emmy. Going to stop by a surplus store tomorrow & pick up some air mattresses w/ pumps, $40/each, I think. This will be a good thing, as anything beats sleeping on the floor.

Enough about the apartment. I need sleep now.

You can make an almost-adequate low table by taking a closet door off its hinges and setting it on a couple of boxes.

Suggestion for Cell phone issue...buy a prepaid Tracfone. They have great signal almost anywhere, and the calls to Canada and most places use the same amount of *units*. If ya want more info on that, drop me an email. There's bonus minutes to be had, and if you buy the right phone, you can do the *Double Minutes For Life* thing for almost free.

Glad things are coming together...

Love, Hugs n Blessings,
Shadowe

Well, one thing I would ask is how long he's lived up here...power outages are not uncommon, and the ONLY phone that will work during one of those is a landline with a NON-wireless phone. Been there, and had to deal with landline only for nearly a week one winter. Just something to throw at him if he's not liking the idea of a landline. Also, you can get a local only, LD restricted if he's worried about high bills.

Other phone possibility is looking into Vonage and the VOIP. Rates are really low, and no LD for all of the states! I don't call Canada anymore, so I can't tell you specifically how it handles those, but it's overall saved me hundreds of dollars in the almost 5 years I've had it now. If you are paying for DSL/Cable/High speed Internet, check into it.

Let me know what furniture bits you might be looking for, as there might be some free ones in my home. :)

(and I haz trailer!)
