RIP: Furp --- Patrick Reed
I just heard about this through ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
selkit, that he was killed in a motorcycle accident. I think he captures it pretty well in his post here. I wouldn't post it here except for one thing. During FC 2003, he was my guiding light for Gofers. Admittantly, he was stationed on a US Navy ship somewhere and I don't recall seeing him at all pre-con, saw him for about half of the con itself, then lost touch with him. He showed me the silver lining of working Gofers, showed me a few tricks that I have passed on to my gofer successors. If it wasn't for Furp, I don't think I would have ever met selkit at all.
