This is looming over my head more frequently than it was before because I know I'm heading north on Feb 9 with prospect of hanging with [livejournal.com profile] tesstheredpony and her mate for at least a little while to get situated in the frozen north. Those of you reading this are familiar with me as a person and know that I am a little on the broke side. Some of you know my website and the work I've done on Tres-Gique. I seem to be very broke and feeling a little useless because I don't have a job. [livejournal.com profile] selkit seems to have found something to latch his teeth onto, and while I am happy for it, I can't seem to take my mind off of the fact that I can't really contribute any $ right now. I would be happy if any of the 5 web projects I was approached for back in my final 2 quarters @ De Anza actually happened, but they haven't and I feel terrible. Like very uber-useless. I know I shouldn't be feeling this, what with my eventual move, but I am feeling it because I have never before been in a position like this. Help would be appreciated. (Those two sites I linked to are the only ones in my portfolio right now.)

This is not just for Seattle contacts, but anyone in that region. The reason this is here: I'm heading north on Feb 9 with [livejournal.com profile] selkit, will be contacting [livejournal.com profile] tesstheredpony when I get to Bellvue to stay for a little while I think. I have a few leads I'm going to try persuing once I get to [livejournal.com profile] furcon, but I can't actively do anything about it this second. What I want you to do if you are willing is to put a comment here with Seattle Contact in the subject and one form of contact you wish me to use (IM service or email preferred). I will be contacting you off-line and exchange information with regards to filker/furry/whatever (housing potential and job stuffs in either office assistant or possible web things are an added plus). I will make you a deal, even: If you can contribute any information to either the moving into housing or the jobness, I will pay in the following forms (choose 1): 1 lb of coffee, tea, a jar Penzeys spice once I have a paycheck to do it with.

Side-note: The Dragon Hoard of wedding stuff is currently being packed into boxes. Will probably be able to get it safely squared away later next week.

Not sure if I can contribute info, but when you're up here, please feel invited come Saturday or Sunday to come over for a meal (and if you'd like, a tour of the University District.)

Hmm well I have some friends in Seattle who even have extra room at their house but I think they're moving to Portland sometime soon.

I have a feeling that most people looking for web design in this day and age are going to want familiarity with php and css... do you have any examples of those that you could throw on your websites? You may need to roll up your sleeves and do some retail work before the perfect job shows up, but even retail feels good when you get that paycheck.

I probably don't have to tell you to hunt craigslist and monster.com, but that's where I found my out-of-college job. Good luck.

Yah. If you don't already have a solid portfolio online, of course, it's generally an employer expectation to be even considered for an interview.

I'm A Seattle person! I have also a fairly vast network of minions. Most of them are tending toward jobless though. Stupid economy.
