Ramblings: Blankets

Just some thought about blankets. You curl up with one, cover yourself with it and hope it helps you sleep, right? I mean...you go to sleep with it and you're supposed to feel like it's cuddly and warm and helpful and suchlike. Who's ever heard of learning anything but the art of sleep from a blanket? I'm not going anywhere with this. Don't mind me. Blankets...why did it have to be blankets?

I take tee shirts with convention ads or funny captions that I want to keep but which don't physically fit me anymore, and use them to quilt onto a comforter. Recycling is Good, and tee shirt fabric is snuggly.

No. Up in Canada visiting the selkit husbandly creature. Which may have prompted the thought on blankets, but possibly not.

Ah, but a blanket is something you also keep to protect you from Evil Grass Stuff, when you go picnic or go to a concert. And when it's cold or raining, you can throw it over your head and shoulders or roll up in it. Okay, I have several friendly blankets that are part of my standard defensive entourage, I admit it... A good blanket will also cover your back!

Blankets are for when the sheet is too cold by itself... so are comforters (of which my favorite kind is person-shaped.)

Lately it's been more about sleeping on them and just wearing my big thick robe. It's been too damned hot to sink into them and wake up like a burrito.
