So today I leave for Canada. Not wearing any metal at the moment except shoes & cell phone. Feels wierd not wearing my rings, but I should be able to put those back on once I get through security. Assuming of course that my ID & passport recipt will be enough. Got 8 books in my backpack, my mac, and my camera. I should be all set for the ride. I made some coffee this morning for my parents, had a bowl of cheerios and tried not to whine "are we there yet" too much. I miss him, and very soon now I will be back in his arms.

I may be going camping with my future family members Brigit & Ian, [livejournal.com profile] selkit's father and sister (and [livejournal.com profile] selkit of course). I may also wind up going for several walks, since I was told he only had to work 4 days while I'm there. Updates of my activities will be forthcomming, once I actually get there and do something. Also, there is a pride parade in Vancouver I believe Aug 1, and Rainfurrest several weeks later. I intend on taking my mate to the Aja concert (read [livejournal.com profile] alexanderfans) assuming I can manage to take him out of Gofers long enough to do this. So much to do, so little time. I also will be discussing our marriage license with him, figuring out if we can obtain it the week of FC since the wedding itself is slated for March 7, 2008 right now.

Due to cynicism in my old & feeble [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear, I'm only able to bring 2 of the 9 radios I have for programming by Trapa. While that isn't bad, I suppose Dad has a point. He's my father, but I don't always like his decisions even if they do seem to make sense.

I should go double-check my stuff before I go on the plane. TTYL folks.

Thanks, I think... Unfortunately, the world is the way it is; you don't have to like it, just live in it. (I'm still looking for an alternate reality to escape into. I'll let you know if I find one.)

savitzky.net/localweb/ gets you to the Starport internal home page. Tacking on mm/audio gets you to the music directory; let me know if there are any albums you want me to rip for you.

He may be old, kid, but he's not feeble yet, neither in his legs nor between his ears... Cynical? Hell yes. And I can see yours developing now; all it takes is a decent brain (and yours is) living in the world for a while... it is very very hard to maintain one's optimism. Yours truly, at least, has managed to regain some of his...

Safe journey, in both mind and body. Part of me wishes I were going with you, not because of who you're going to see, but because at least in some respects, that's a nicer part of the world... OTOH, I have reasons both personal and altruistic for staying.... not all of which are even within this house.

See you at the wedding if not before. Be excellent to yourself, and to him. You both deserve it.
