And not well either. I just spent seven weeks with [livejournal.com profile] selkit; my lover from Canada. You all know he proposed to me, you know he gave me the rings, and you know he was only visiting. Unfortunately, his time is up. He had to go. I wanted to go with him, would give anything to go with him, and had to help him get his stuff into the train station. I watched him stand in line, I blew him a kiss as I walked away. I am an emotional train wreck right now, and seeing the email of a potential job lead didn't help brighten my day. Seemed to brighten his, though. I wish I felt better about myself right now, but......eh. Job-hunting? Want to read about that? Ok. I'll give you that.

I went upstairs to pull myself together while my love was packing his stuff to go home. I checked email, and found this:

Dear Kathryn,

I suggest checking them out on the web to see if they're legit and well-respected. Could be great; could be bad -- sounds a bit like Quixtar.

OK, now tell me what in your resume makes them think that are qualified for outside insurance sales?

- You aren't licensed.

- You don't have any relevant experience.

- You don't have a relevant degree.

They send this to everyone who fits their age profile. (i.e. young and inexperienced.) It's a churn and burn shop. They promise you high returns, but in reality you make almost no money and burn out inside a year.

And frankly, you don't have the personality for outside sales. I don't either. I'm happy about that. I like having some integrity.

Dump this one.

A quick Google of the name gave me this discussion thread - I wouldn't go near them, personally.

Hmmm, I think I would have to agree here...I read through most of the thread...my gut instinct tells me *RUN AWAY*...especially the parts about being able to credit AND Debit from your account. Nope, not for me...

Chaos, love, do be careful...too many people get burned too badly with commission sales...

Love, Hugs and Blessings,
Shadowe

Inclined to agree. Wolfie, read this thread. It may not be exactly like Quixtar, but it's selling on commission and they use dubious numbers in their recruiting. Not your kind of job.

Damn, this reminds me of that "Art by the Yard" thing we went to years ago. "Management trainee" my ass.

Agreed. I recently turned down a sales pitch from Primerica; thanks but no thanks.
