Here's actual content. No lemmings this time, I promise. Anyways: I went to bed at a reasonable hour last night (2330, roughly). I got up at approximately 0630, and didn't disturb the [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear as he was waking up. I sorta...bugged him as he was taking his morning meds. We didn't have coffee because he didn't make any, I was being lazy....so I didn't make any, and Emmy was being stubborn, so there was no coffee. I missed talking to Danica online by about 30 minutes, which pissed me off.

Not because I hate it when I do that, but because she's spending more time @ Jason's when I'm on the computer. It sorta sucks. I don't have a lovelife to escape to now, so there really isn't any joy in me attempting to fight plotbunnies when she's not near her computer. It sucks. Royally. I am not mad at her. I envy her, actually. Because she's in a relationship that seems real.

My lady hasn't even acknowledged my birthday, and hasn't spoken to me in almost a month. I'm not sure exactly what this means, but I've got a few guesses. All my other potential boyfriend material unfortunately lives elsewhere. [livejournal.com profile] netolu for example: Paso Robles. [livejournal.com profile] selkit lives in Canada. *whimpers* I'm a lonely wolf who needs friends. And probably a lover too. But finding either is hard....especially for me. [livejournal.com profile] ruthstock13 told me to lay off her daughter, which I admit I probably deserved, but I swear I wasn't intending on being that annoying. Now I'm lost as to how to handle this, much less how to handle the "bored out of mind" factor.

Best thing for the "lonely and bored" problem (aside from climbing to the top of an empty, echoing stairwell and declaiming ose poetry, which is one of the things I was doing with my spare time at your age) is keeping busy, preferably with something creative.

Work on some Photoshop or Gimp pictures. Build some 3-d models with Blender. Put insane Javascript goodness into your website. Start a new novel that doesn't require the cooperation of an ex-girlfriend -- maybe based on characters you worked up for one of your sister's games, maybe something totally different. Read classic novels and write scathing reviews of them in your blog. Rewrite the final scene of Hamlet to the tune of a Gilbert and Sullivan finale.

HORATIO: I swear, I can explain.

FORTINBRAS: Do tell.

Oh, and I didn't make coffee because I was still on the 12-hour fast before going in for my annual blood work at Kaiser.

There's a perfectly decent train between San Jose and Davis, which is even cheaper than driving. It doesn't take that much more time, either. Auntie Jilara says "check it out."

[but I like lemmings]

Hi hi! So have you decided if you like having another birthday yet or not? [or have you discovered that the secret is allowing time to pass without letting it age you?]

As far as boredom goes, I always suggest gaming. Console gaming is just darned fun, whereas table gaming forces you to be social once a week [or whenever the games are] - and frequently I have noticed relationships start between players who automatically have something in common [gaming, plus the stigma of being a gamer geek ^_^]
