I have to somehow find a will/way to clean my room. I have none. I hate tidy idleness. I can handle clean for a while, but I have no will to clean the damned thing. My mom is telling me she's going to get me new furniture (such as galvanized steel cubes from the Container Store) if I cooperate. The problem is, like I said: I have no will to clean the room. I admit, I am not the neatest person in the world. I admit I don't have motivation to clean it. And I admit I am currently living life "as a pig." [livejournal.com profile] super_star_girl (younger sister) decided it'd be fun to get into an argument with me, called me a "slime head" and told me to get lost if I wasn't willing to clean it. Every time I clean it, I get less than half way through and it becomes a wreck again. I am ready to say "fuck it all" and blow it up, or call an interior designer/1-800-got-junk and let them help me clean this bombshell.

One other thing: just a personal opinion, though I am of the opinion the entire bed frame (and the desk as well) was delivered with an infestation of bedbugs....I've placed duct tape around several areas where the bugs appear to be coming from and that seems to have helped somewhat. I'm thinking about redesigning the bed with a metal frame rather than steel......possibly the desk too.

Just one more fucked up day in my life.....

P.S.: The Merlin's Descendants Series by Irene Radford/CD by Heather Alexander is awesome!!!!!!

My opinion is worth what you paid for it, i.e. $0.00

Goddess preserve me.....

Why? Because C is going to be upset with you?

Nothing like a bribe you don't want to encourage cooperation.

You mean [livejournal.com profile] misdev.

If you want interior design tips, a living space such as a room is a place to help you live your life. If someone else tells you how you have to have your room, they are telling you also how you have to live your life.

Try to imagine what your room would look like if it were a tool or device to help you live your life more efficiently. Furniture that serves your actual needs instead of trapping you into certain ways of doing things. Protection for clothing and personal effects. Opportunity to show off your personal style and your beliefs. A sacred space in which you are safe, you rest and recharge, and where you hold domain.

I have found that a "messy room" is often subconscious safety for valued objects, which cannot be picked out or stolen or recognized as such because they are "mixed in the mess."

Nasty. General cleanliness will help a lot, and I'm sure various visitors to Household will have advice of their own. Various non-toxic chemicals could help. Painting can also help.

Be well.

I think Julie Morgenstern has a book out for folks your age who want to organize their living spaces. I've found her tips helpful in the past, so you might find them useful now.

Oh, and having your room be clean does not mean it can;t reflect you and your personality and interests.

I'm thinkin' I need to make a roadtrip down there to trundle around and lend a Chaoswoof a hand. Don't despair, hun... my own place gets kinda (read -really-) disorganized, though I suppose clutter in the form of armor and leather scraps is somewhat tolerable. *Hugs muchly!*
