Okay. I got some new boots yesterday. Nice kickass boots that have a zipper, velcro and lacing. This is great for boffing or conventions. Never using these boots for school. They're too good for that. After I got the boots, Mayhem, Uncle Phil & Beast Master Projections went to a friend's mideval looking house to film a few more scenes for the movie. We came home, changed outfits, then Mayhem went to BMP studios to work on her editing while myself, [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat and Uncle Phil went to the Further Confusion firing party. This is where I got hired as Volunteers lead and Paladin (Uncle Phil) hired as my 2nd. As of now, I'm waiting for a response from [livejournal.com profile] pnthrmgck or AlohaWolf as to who I get for my 3rd. Also, around the same time: I was hired as Filk 2nd, and [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat as Filk Track Lead. The party was great..but died before midnight.

Then I got back & had to go to a BayCon meeting today. This was sort of expected, because I've made a commitment to work ConOps. My events lead from FC showed up, so I asked [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat if she was seriously interested in FC Filk Lead. She said that she wasn't good at organization & trusts my organization methods when it comes to conventions. So, I asked said Events Lead if I could be promoted to Filk Track Lead, and [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat demoted to FC Filk 2nd. Events head said yes, so I said "Fine. You're in charge of BEO & sound stuff, I'll organize all of it." She agreed to this. Back to the BayCon meeting: I was sitting there for a good portion of the meeting reading a book. During the breaks, I was off doing things that I was sort of half-way expecting I'd be doing: talking to people, hugging people I haven't seen since last year or so, etc. I wasn't aware of the 8 hour a day requirement for ConOps until [livejournal.com profile] roaringmouse told me about it. I'm still a bit skeptical about the 8 hours a day thing, as Sherrie (sp?) said that I'd only be working 4 hours per day. I think she's got enough Ops Staff that she doesn't really need me there for 8 hours, but then again she said "the work schedule as of who's working when is tenative at this point in time" because she's going to try & finalize it next week. I will know for sure how much time I have to get my pickled herring theme done with the boffers.

Damn. Time for me now to explain the pickled herring. Okay. I was talking to Heather Stern today @ the meeting. She said she'd get me a picture of a herring, then a picture also of a pickle. I thought Hmmm...Let's see...1 foot herring...and a nice round shield that looks like a pickle chip! Yes! This is, of course, all in theme with my Fish Arsenal. Just wait until I get my trout-chucks!

Anyways, call for help has been placed. I'm looking for filkers to run panels/preform in concert @ next year's Further Confusion. See my post in [livejournal.com profile] filk for more information. I said that what I'm trying to do is encourage overlap from furry to filk, and we got a big turnout last year with Heather Alexander as our Filk GOH. If anyone has any nominations for potential Filk GOHs that aren't named in my post (see my post in [livejournal.com profile] filk to know who those are), please reply to this or to that message and I will get back to you. As of this moment, I have one potential concert. I don't know if [livejournal.com profile] mooglepower is interested in doing a panel or two as well, but I will do what I can to smoothly run my first ever filk track.

Well, as you know by now: I'm looking for performers in concerts & also panelists. I've got a few ideas for filk-related topics, but not sure how to convey them into words. My ideas are as follows:

  • Copyright laws on filking

  • How to parody someone else's work

  • Filking 101: How to write filk

  • Workshop: choosing the right insturment

  • Workshop: Accapella or Insturmental backing?

  • Workshop: scannage

Panelists to date: Currently, I have convinced [livejournal.com profile] mooglepower (thank you ever so much, Ian!!!) to contribute his talent on 2 panels out of X amount of filk-related events.

Concerts to date: [livejournal.com profile] mooglepower (Uber thanks again, Ian!!!) is slotted for something on Saturday.

People I've got to thank for helping me with my new game Who Would You Like To See @ Further Confusion 2005?: [livejournal.com profile] mooglepower and [livejournal.com profile] johno for playing; and [livejournal.com profile] camerapup for giving the list a look-over. If anyone else wants to play, reply to this and I will get your e-mail addy off your profile sending you a 1kb text file.
