Things to say

Katrina: Damn her for what she has done. She's caused pain and injured those who did not deserve it. I know she has passed on into the world of most devastating hurricanes, but damn her anyway. [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat has started working on quilts for the releif effort.

Powergrabbing: Bush is a fucking asshole. We all know he's sent 80% or so of our National Guard to Iraq & Afghanistan, leaving only 20% or less to help deal with the Katrina relief effort. He is too ego-centric to admit defeat, and other Republicans in the House & Senate are starting to disagree with his policies. He will drive the party into the ground well before the next election.

Problematic: Trying to get ahold of parents when one has her cell phone off and the other has his on the charger. The painters came by last night to give an estimate, and they weren't home. Damn inconvenience, since I was in the middle of something. Also problematic to try using people as scapegoats when you don't have numbers to contact these people.

They had days of warning on Katrina. He couldn't bothered to even do a conference call effort at delegating resources so that even meager help could be poised to MOVE as soon as the winds died down.

We can only HOPE

That he's driven the Republican party into the ground. Judging from my latest acquisition of "friend-spam" (supposedly funny or inspirational or important, passed on by a friend you don't otherwise hear much from but has you in his/her address book) there's at least a good contingent not adding 2 and 2. They'll continue to vote for our "war-president who keeps us safe", and the party he road in on.

Hows THAT for a rant, kid?
