As you know, folks...I've been busy. Just so you all know where I've hit:
  1. Cosentino's (Bascom & Union)
  2. Best Buy (Santana Row)
  3. Borders (Santana Row)
  4. Borders Express (Valley Fair)
  5. King Of Knives (Valley Fair)
  6. Apple (Valley Fair)
  7. Lego (Valley Fair)
  8. Torrid (Valley Fair)
  9. Prints Plus (Valley Fair)
  10. Gamestop (Stevens Creek)
  11. Barnes & Noble (Stevens Creek)
  12. SunCoast (Valley Fair)
  13. Container Store (Santana Row)

I've noticed that Borders & Best Buy have a similar "assessment test" they want you to do before they process the app. Not sure why that is, but some of the questions are routine and irrelavent. I don't see most of the things on it as relavent, though it's possible....

Anyways: got a potential bite on the Torrid hit, saying that they are probably going to start hiring within a few weeks. As for KoK, they told me that they would look over the app and if I displayed enough interest/knowledge, they'd pull it and put it into a special pile they will contact before they look at the other apps. Like priority hiring, really. I'm not sure when he's going to start hiring, but soon, I hope. The rest of them, I wasn't too optimistic. I picked up the apps, I did them......and I will probably go to hand them in Thurs Friday because on Thurs I have an appointment with some friends about going to Great America. Might get called about some interviews. Not really optomistic. I'll keep you posted.

You probably don't want to work for Beast Buy. They have certain ...ahem... performance standards that are best described as "not good for one's moral and ethical standards." Ditto the oxymoronic "Good Guys." Let's just say that I think of them as the business equivalent of Darth Vader. You can do fairly well there if you espouse the Dark Side, but do you really want to exploit your fellow humans that way?

Ack, the Dark Side beckons, and she could end up as a used car salesman! Working for Discourtesy Chevrolet!
(Of course, considering your history, this would be the equivalent of of Vader's "I'm your father, join me" after cutting off Luke's hand... Hmm, I need a Darth Vader icon...)

The assessment tests are trying to catch potential thieves.

Don't say things like "The average person steals $15" . . . say that the average person steals ZERO. Not the middle of the line chart, the dead left.

Being too bright can also sink you on retail testing. "If you're too dumb to lie to the test, you're too dumb to hide your stealing."
