Well....

Interesting. Happened much as I sort of expected it to: stayed upstairs & slept for most of it, waiting for people to show. Got a phone call around 1030 from [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat who said she was going shopping with Uncle Phil. No biggie. Just meant that I had to get up. Didn't wanna. Oh well. Play games until about 1400 on the computer downstairs, then come back up here to catch up on some LJ, say hi to a few people & crash for a few hours. Get another call on my cell from [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat who tells me that my friend Laura B. has shown up.

I go downstairs, talk with her and her guyfriend, and explain a bit about past lives, doing a reading on him as well as maintaining her instruction at the same time. They leave, and I hang out with the adults for a while. Yes, there is a big distinction between adults and gamers. Don't ask. Too complicated. Recently read [livejournal.com profile] bovil's post in [livejournal.com profile] baycon about the LJ Commando outfit, and have started to think about it. Now, I know that [livejournal.com profile] w_ender is somehow connected to the US Military, and I wonder how he would react if I wore one of these outfits to school. Would I be considered "impersonating an officer" dispite the fact that the patches are nothing at all like the realistic Military patches used in the offical US Military or would I just be another LJ commando like everyone else?

Anyways, saw [livejournal.com profile] wolfwings tonight, and met his friend Jason (whose LJ name I forget atm). Also saw StalkingCat, which was a very interesting experience. We talked with [livejournal.com profile] texxgadget on many a topic, all of which I do not remember. I know that there was some discussion about Silicon and radios, several bits about the fate of poor [livejournal.com profile] wolfwings's mostly functional Honda Civic, and lots of political crap about the NRA. Meanwhile, I probably should get offline and go to sleep, since I do have somewhere to be tomorrow....damn.

"impersonating an officer"

is a specific crime where you duplicate the uniform and fraudulently identify yourself as an officer.

Any unadorned uniform is just clothing.

Decorating the clothing with LJ related badges and stuff makes it a costume.

Now whether or not you think making and wearing a LJ commando costume would offend [livejournal.com profile] w_ender is another matter.

[livejournal.com profile] kproche and [livejournal.com profile] bovil stopped wearing their's at CC23, because the hotel restaurant was being used for the departure dinners for units heading to Iraq. The last real meal before months of rations and Haliburton dinning hall meals.

Impersonating an officer

To actually commit this crime you would have to dress in a military uniform (not just DCU/BDUs) and represent yourself as an officer of the Armed Forces.

Wearing surplus clothing with silly insignia on them wouldn't meet the standard.
