Is it a crime to want to get a decent night's rest before school in the morning? As it will be the first day of my "new" quarter where I don't have class @ 0830, I want the blessing of being able to sleep a bit. Unfortunatly, no. My sister [livejournal.com profile] super_star_girl has to cry for a little over half an hour, and she isn't shutting up. I told her to twice now, even went downstairs to tell the [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat that I couldn't sleep because of her. If I have to tell her a third time, I'll go get [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear to try and talk some sense into her. I don't want to get him involved, but I do want her to shut up so I can sleep.

Sleep goozzzzd......as I type, I fall zzzleep........and Emmy not going slzzzp.......

Yeesh. What is she crying about? Getting to the root of that might stop the crying, enabling both of you to sleep better.

I can understand her crying in that case. It's a situation in which she's powerless.

I also like and admire your approach. You're just as powerless as she is and have realized it. Also remember: you're a "grown-up." She's still a child.

There is a program that some hospitals have to help kids to get over the problem of parents having operations. You might suggest this to your mom...
