To those De Anza kids (all ages) who read my livejournal and have cars: I still would like to (seriously) not pay the extremely high bus fares in order to get to/from school, so I'm looking at forming a carpool. I'm primarily directing this at [livejournal.com profile] squeeful, but if I don't get any other hits, I'll direct it to [livejournal.com profile] animekid, who is an all around nice guy who says he's "Too Nice For My Own Good."

I am not begging, but I am fairly confident in the respect that [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear doesn't like shelling out an additional $60 a month for my bus pass. I'm tired of it too, but I don't trust myself behind the wheel of a car. Hence why I haven't gotten a license yet.....

And yay, you, for not falling into the stereotypical teenage mindset of "Must have license and car as soon as is humanly possible." I got mine the fall after I turned 18; yeah, there were some times in HS that I felt the lack fairly heavily, but on the whole I didn't mind.

I didn't get my license until after I was 18 as well. Didn't want it before then, even though I likely could have used it.

I'm cool with giving you a ride...

It's just hammering into my biological clock (no not THE biological clock) that I need to wake up earlier...

And of course there is a certain factor you'd have to handle briefly from the drive to school ^^;;

If you know what I mean

Actually, I don't mind funding your bus use -- it's a lot cheaper than extra car insurance, and you'll still need some bus money for emergencies and weekends.

Still, having a driver's license isn't the same thing as owning a car -- I got my first as a college graduation present. And it would be useful, again for emergencies and occasional weekend use.

If you don't trust yourself behind the wheel of a car, try looking into a Defensive Driving course, preferably taught by a race-car driver. They will make you learn every aspect of how your car handles, as well as driving other cars to see how they feel different.

They'll teach you ice, rain, sun... everything driving.
