Tried updating yesterday, but the connection was hiccuping and LJ was down anyways.

School was OK on Thursday. Didn't happen all that fast, but OTOH, there were several decisions made that I never want to try doing again. I just hope that if I get the same thing next year that I will make better decisions in regards to my classes. Anyways, the concert by Midlife Crisis was great, the Uffington concerts were great. My only complaint is that flash cameras should not be discharged 2 feet away from someone's head. I got a migraine when someone did that......I got several pieces of badge art yesterday. Here's my count:
  • Picture of me looking friendly
  • pic of chibbi Chaos looking cute & fluffy
  • One pic of Chaos looking slightly intimidating
  • Chaos looking to pounce & kill
Friday went rather well all things considered, and Sat I got into a mixed genre LARP with [livejournal.com profile] entrpy and Jennifer. I still have to go collect some badge art from a few more fursons, but I'll do that once I get off shift @ 12. I've been here since 0600, and I'm only now (0853) eating breakfast. Staff feed opened an hour ago and I'm slow eating it. I'll be OK.

My camera broke. Damnit. Need new camera. Need to decide if it's going to be a cam of the same model or a different one, but I will have to wait for my ATM card before I can do anything. Never fear, though. The pictures will still be uploaded to the ChaosCam after the convention.

Fortunately, your current camera is no longer being made, so that particular decision is out of your hands.

Much of your camera damage seems to come from the fact that you carry it on your belt, and the fact that it can get turned on in the case. I suggest a hardshell case and/or a camera that's much harder to turn on accidentally. A camera that doesn't have a lens that sticks out from the body would probably help, too. Mom's new little Nikon is supposedly harder to turn on accidentally, (though it's possible, since it's just a button). The flat little Konica/Minolta cameras like the X31 and X50keep all their optics internally, and the X31 is in your price range ($200).

My MP3 player (Creative Labs) has a wonderful locking switch that disables all other controls. It's better than cell-phone two-second-push requirements, and I wish more devices had at least one of the two.
