In Memoriam: Amethyst Rose Savitzky, Age 14

Excerpt taken from [livejournal.com profile] mdlbear: She would have been fourteen years old today, our other daughter who never was. Her name was -- and will always be -- Amethyst Rose.

This picture was done in my digital photography class, the poem was written on the spot. In Memoriam: Amy

In Memoriam of Crystal Amethyst Rose Savitzky
August 4, 1990 stillborn
I wish I had gotten the chance to see your smile, I wish I had gotten to see you grow up, I wish you had lived to see today, my writing about you. I know you watch me always, with only a 5 year gap between us, Emmy isn't the same and never will be, but I love you always, Crystal. I never will forget the day when the doctors gave us the tragic news, the
doctors said you were born still, and my life shattered. I didn't want mom to have another kid, because after your death, I was never the same. I wish I had been able to recover, but even now, that seems impossible. I will love you always and forever, Crystal Amethyst Rose Savitzky. With love from your elder sister, Kathryn Diana Savitzky

Because of the fact that Amy existed only for a day, even though her memory lives on forever, this song seems so appropriate somehow...The Girl That's Never Been
