Another day in the life of [livejournal.com profile] chaoswolf. What a job it is trying to come up with something to write that you can't write about. The nature of Kafka's "Metamorphosis" is so damned depressing and incoherrant that there's nothing that myself personally can connect with in this text. The essay is due tomorrow, but I don't think I can make the essay go away. Nothing I can say/do seems to make this any easier. Even though help has been offered to help me get through this, it isn't going to help. I can't do this essay. There just isn't any way for me to express Kafka. The only time I actually read the damned book was in AP English Lit back in high school. I never had analytical questions like this. It was so dull & depressing that I wanted to incinerate the book.

Now it comes back to haunt me, to poke fun. If I could write about the damned book, I would just so I can get this damned essay off my record. It isn't happening. Nothing will make it go away, and in the few hours I have left before daybreak, I doubt I can write it.

Well, I tried. We both did.

Q: How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Only one, but the light bulb has to want to change.

You have my sympathy.

When I was 18 I was assigned a paper where I was supposed to write, from experience, about what it was like to be in love.

There was just one problem: I was 18, and a young and inexperienced 18 at that. I had barely dated. In love? Ha! I had yet to experience that.

I gave the teacher a two-sentence paper. The first one contained the definition from Webster's Collegiate Dictionary. The second one explained that I had never been in love. The teacher was infuriated, but I didn't care.
