[livejournal.com profile] selkit's plane touched down yesterday. I was a happy & hyper pupcat. I was counting time. walked through the gate of the airport, and I was standing right outside the gate. He walked past me, and the look of suprise when I said "Looking for someone, Grayfox?" in a chipper voice startled him slightly. The look was worth a thousand words, and I didn't have my camera. I brought him home and we watched Over the Hedge. We had a blast with that. If you wanted to know what we did after we watched the movie (and wish to be included on my potential new naughty filter), email/IM/reply in comments. He also brought me some gloves & shears for chainmail, a chain shirt, and a pair of cuffs. Mrr.....

Today, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and I had no idea that BBIM (BookBuyers in Monterey) was so close to the aquarium. The irony of it all. I just finished processing a stack of books from BBIM on Thursday. [livejournal.com profile] selkit got a bit carsick on the way up, but the day went well despite that. Lunch was a 100% angus cheese burger and fries. And I think my 1/2 bag of chips is still in his pocket. And both of us picked up matching shirts that read I'm multi-talented: I can talk and piss you off at the same time! The pictures we took today will be up on the web soon-ish, like when I unload my camera and borrow his to do so. Will be posting to my scrapbook, since he doesn't have a paid account. Now I suppose we're off to Walgreens & Secret Delights. If you wish details on the latter, see the line about my "naughty" filter I will be possibly creating. If only 1 or 2 responses, I'm not going to bother. If at least 5, I will do it.

/me wonders how he got all that through security... but is glad he did.

I'm game for the filter.... :)

(The story sounds somewhat like the first time I had someone fly across the country just to meet me... heh. I even think I was pretty close to that age... )

I can handle almost anything so no fear. If I need to be filtered out I will holler.

I'll let you decide whether to put me and [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat on that. We're more-or-less unshockable, as you probably know.

Filter-add, please. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. *tailwag*

You know, that's the thing I've seen about the various parent-daughter (I haven't run across any guys that have parents on LJ yet, so...) pairings on here... all of the parents are cool enough to be somewhere between nonchalant and actively supportive of the all-grown-up younglings' various out-of-the-ordinary activities, whether it be showing off one's assets on the Internet or wandering off to Peru to chew coca leaves and learn about sacred jaguars and royal hummingbirds. (Not to say the kids aren't cool too; wouldn't be here if they weren't! But I guess I'm saying they get it honest... which is a compliment to both generations.)

Even paranoids have enemies...

As [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat and others point out, it's rarely a good idea to post the intimate details of your love life on the Internet -- even posts that are filtered or private can leak out in various ways, and cause no end of embarassment years later when you least expect it.

If you want to keep an intimate diary, paper is probably best, followed by encrypted files in your home directory.

Some people actually make a separate, invitation-only "sex" journal. If you go that route, you need to make sure that you *never* post the name of either one in the other -- otherwise a search engine could link them.

Thanks. We work at it. There's occasionally a little friction, but we try very hard to keep the channels open. Doesn't work all the time, but I think it does often enough to be useful.

Sometimes I think tolerance is the greatest virtue there is.

I fine it really odd that flower_cat and mdlbear have no problem being on your TMI filter but I'M sqicking about it!

Sigh, I guess I get to be the token strait and the token prude....

Go ahead and add me if you like, after all denying it won't make it go away.

Sounds tame enough. Just don't count on it staying private forever.
