Another con. Goodie.
May. 31st, 2004 11:36 pmGreat timing. Not that I'm pissed off, not that I had a bad time, not that I'm bored or anything. It's just...end of the con, and tomorrow I have to go take a midterm instead, and that will be very painful. I hate midterms....but...this one is open notes, so it shouldn't be that bad. I still hate midterms.....
I've got problems with conventions too. The main problem is with people like my shift manager in ConOps, who act all nice & shit because you're new, then rip you a new asshole whenever you fuck up. Does this sound very fucking familiar to anyone? My other problem is during Dead Dog. Everyone's tired, they don't want to leave because the family at conventions to a point is better than the family in reality. I've made more friends in Fandom than I have ever made in a school environment. The fact I was born during a con makes this easier, I suppose. Anyways, I feel safer at cons than I do at school, because I shouldn't have to be tested or have a new one ripped every time I fuck up. I hate tests!! Another thing: parties. The parties are grand, I like having a blast, but I hate the fact that people like above mentioned shift manager have to go and crash it. It's not very fun....Not to mention the fact also that when everyone goes home, they feel so depressed and alone because some poeple have had a great time and met a new lover or something, then be depressed for a while until the next opportunity presents itself. (This should sound very familiar to us both,
asahoshi, as I'm still going through some of that myself.)
BayCon was great otherwise. A blast. Really interesting convention. There weren't as many FurSuiters as I had expected, because of the conflicting conventions CaliFur, KubliCon, and Fanime. However, I did get a major suprise today when I looked at the
flier: Uffington Horse is going to be there. This is a suprise to me because I technically am supposed to be getting the emails. For some reason, though, my FC email addy is subscribed as katy@thestarport.org, which I don't check. My new Further Confusion related address is chaoswolf@castlefur.com, so please use this if you have suggestions or other such things pretaining to FurCon filk ideas or if you want to volunteer.
