Well, I came home from school yesterday, sold a few books, then Mom told me to look at the newspaper from that morning (that I usually never have time to read). Damnit, I wish I hadn't read that article. "President Bush sends Ultimatum to Iraq" I read. A bunch of thoughts came through my mind: *Why doesn't he go back to Texas & deal with his fucking cows?* *Is it illegal to impeach someone we didn't elect?* *Who could run this country better: President Bush, Martha Stewart, or a jar of mayonase (IQ 2, no joke!)

As I watched the news, I had the feeling we were going to war. Mom's been saying "Thank the lord & pass the ammunition" for a while when we find a cause to celebrate things around the house, and I amend "To hell with the ammo, break out the shovels!" I know that the threat of nuclear war is much nearer now than it was 2 months ago, but I think we need to start making bomb shelters again. Dispite the fact it'd be considered "impractical" on most accounts, I think it's necessary.

It's not going to get any easier for us, and my little sister (whom is only 11 and never had to live through a war) is now going to face the possibility of a reduced education. Not only that, but Gov. Gray Davis is cutting educational spending, possibly laying off at least 40 teachers in SJUSD (San Jose Unified School District) and putting it into prisons, releasing more sex offenders & possible killers. I'm not amused by this in the slightest, and I have had to endure Gulf Wars Episode I. Emmy is going to have to live through Gulf Wars Episode II and face education cutbacks, not recieving as much knowledge.

During the last 2 months, I have been to a dance for peace and participated in the peace march/rally downtown San Jose last month, hoping our words of peace and non-violence will make a difference and force some brains into that concrete skull of the asshole who runs our country. It apparently had little effect: President Bush (the son of a Bush) is going in without United Nations backing up his words. It gets worse: He's going to watch history repeat itself, making the same mistakes that his father did only 12 years ago. It may not sound terribly amusing, but we need to face reality here, folks:

Welcome to WWIII.
