Gods Damn It!

I really hate guitar. I respect those who play it. I really hate learning it. Always the wrong string. Always the wrong note. I suck!

Fuck it all. I don't give a fucking damn.

Wait a second girl!

Are you saying that you've been trying to learn to play classical, from regular sheet music? NOBODY starts guitar like that -- no wonder you're having problems! It's not a matter of learning, at this point, but of staying in school. You can, if you want, learn guitar informally, like 90% of the people who play.

The answer, as much as possible, is CHEAT. Exactly what do you need to do to pass the test? If it is to play particular pieces, learn them any way you can. Get someone to show you. (OK, so you hate asking for help. Sometimes you have to.) Write out chord diagrams above the "real" music (that's helped me -- basically you're seeing at a glance the next several fingerings that you'll be doing) See if you can get it translated to tableture. Then memorize it. If you sit with the music in front of you, and stare at that while you're playing, (but free to glance at your fingers at need) nobody will know the difference.
