asahoshi: I understand about getting into fights with your family. Especially when all 3 of them are against you. I hate trying to clean my room because it never stays clean for more than 20 minutes anyway. What the fuck is the god damned point? The only reason why I'm still alive is because I promised people I wouldn't do anything overtly stupid. But if cleaning my room is all I need to do in order to not get my ass kicked by

WHAT THE FUCK MAKES THEM THINK I CAN CLEAN?!?! Just beause I clean the car every so often is not enough to prove to myself that I have self confidence. Asking people for help (such as

misdev or Uncle Paladin) is $$ not an option.......and for whatever reason they are of the opinion that we will have lice forever because my room is the messiest.

If I were physically able to move out, damnit I would have!!! Unfortunatly, jobs are impossible to find, and people I know at school aren't looking for room mates right now! FUCKING HELL! I swear to the 7 winds that if I were capable of being perfect, the room would be clean & stay that way until I moved out. NOBODY'S FUCKING PERFECT!!!! I could personally care less about the state of my room. Parental units insist that it stay clean as long as possible & I try to clean it weekly. Sure. If I had inspiration to clean it on a weekly basis, it might work. What they don't see is that I have no motivation/inspiration to do so. They don't see the fact that I like my chaotic mess damnit. I don't want to look like my grandmother and have a tidy idleness! I'm sorry about that,

Tried calling Hermes today to see if I could get a sanity check after I yelled at everyone. He told me that everything would be okay and not to do anything stupid like play with the shiny pointy things under the bed. I know better than to do that, but I still think cleaning my room is an impossible task. He also said that if he were able to come over and help, he would. Alas, he's got work tonight and I don't know of anyone in the area to help me out with this. I could try a recruitment drive on here with replies to this post, but I'm not sure that will work somehow. Also, with everything I do in the course of a week (such as studying for homework and exams) what makes them think I have the time to clean my room...? Debating calling

asahoshi, but for some reason I don't think that will work today. She has enough issues and probably wouldn't want mine on top of whatever shit is happening with her sister and parents back home.

You have only to look at my desk, or the area around

flower_cat's chair in the living room, to realize that we don't expect perfection. Or even order. All we really need from you today is to bring your bedding downstairs so we can wash it. That's all. Having a picked-up path from your door to your bed would be nice, especially if you want people to come in and bring you a coke in the morning, and it would probably help keep some of your stuff from getting stepped on, but that part's up to you.

*sigh* At some point that cheshire would like the whole room cleaned, which is nigh impossible....

have you considered re-organizing everything into a semblance of something less than tidy?

I know it sucks having to keep your room clean.. but if you think of it as an emotional state.. then it kinda helps.. When ever my room gets to the point of SERIOUS filth, everyone around me knows that I'm depressed, and when I clean it.. it means that I'm out of it.. (I dunno.. it works for me..)

Babe, not sure if you saw a post of mine about www.flylady.net. While you aren't trying to keep a whole house clean like I am, her philosophy about doing *anything* for 15 mintues can work for you. You are competitive...we've discussed this in the past. So, set a timer for 15, strip the bed down and make it up with clean sheets...Bet you can do it all in <15 minutes. Even with the disaster that the rest of your room is in. You will sleep better tonight, and you know it. A bed with clean sheets is wonderful!! That's why I love hotels! They change my sheets and make my bed. But at home it's my job if I want to sleep well.

And if your bed becomes your "sink" -- what a great way to start learning order.

Oh, and how the hell do I know about all this? My mom was the WORST housekeeper and she was a Stay at Home Mom!! There were many nights where we ate off of paper plates because there were no clean plates. Her excuse was that my sister and I had really, really busy schedules and she had to take us everywhere. Bullsssshiit. It was her excuse. Now, with 15 minutes on a timer, she is at least keeping her room clean and the kitchen is better. It took several months of playing the game against the timer, but it's to the point where I can show up and crash on the sofa without having to move 4 loads of laundry, and I can find something to eat and a plate to eat it off of.

The De Anza bookstore's always looking for people between quarters. I worked there for roughly half a year - they're good people.

Yeah me too... lol. They do treat you ok if you know what you're doing, and even if you don't.

Everyone's well intentioned...but some people you just have to know to understand that they mean no ill-will.

Take for example...most commonly people fear Deb and Diane...
But if you get to know them...that's just how they are and they're not being mean or whatnot ^^;;

So yeah...it's a pretty cool place XD
Albeit the min wage that takes forever if ever until you get a raise? O.o;

Meh, I never feared Deb. ~~I just snarked about her to Veronica~~. *cough* And I was a cashier so for the most part I never had to deal with Diane. =D

Just because you have to do it doesn't mean the universe expects you to be good at it. Gods know, I'm not. I refer to my house by whether the "tide is in" or not. When it is, the middens are deep. I try to keep the floors from becoming a health hazard, but sometimes that's the best I can do. And I get three furry friends adding entropy (and fluff!) to the mix.

Where are all those servants we ought to have, I ask you? We could all use them. (But then we couldn't find anything...)
